What is a truck? It is the top part of the flagpole commonly known as the pulley. All flagpoles have specific trucks or pulleys that are better for their use. Smaller flagpoles or sectional flagpoles often use the eyebolt and pulley system or a side mount pulley for the halyard (rope). Larger flagpoles use a truck unit that houses the pulley within its cast aluminum frame. Revolving trucks or rotating trucks allow the flag and halyard freedom of movement with the wind. The ideal is that the flag will not wrap up on the flagpole. The spindle mount revolving truck is designed for commercial grade flagpoles or for use with an adapter for larger diameter poles. The cast aluminum truck is secured in the top of the threaded plug or adapter by the 1-1/4″ NPT threads. The top is designed to swivel on the ¬º” axle and ball bearings. The top of the truck also has a-1/2″ threaded receiver for the ornament of your choice. The aluminum sheave (pulley) offers a stronger alternative to the other nylon pulley options.
