Bennington Flag
Flags International is proud to offer this high quality Bennington Flag. How many different early flags of our country do you recognize? Flags International offers nylon Historical Flags of the United States. Where did the different flags come from? How did the U.S. flag come to be? We have a chronology of flags in addition to other historically important flags from the days of the colonies all the way through the Civil War. The Bennington is believed to be the first flag of “stars and stripes” used by American militia during the War of Independence. It was used on August 16, 1777 during a successful defense of military stores at Bennington, VT. This flag was used just two months after the Congressional Resolution adopting our first flag. In carefully examining the flag, you will note several unusual “variations” in its design. These flags make great alternative flags to the standard Stars and Stripes for flying on your flagpole or off the side of the house. These historical nylon flags have embroidered stars and sewn stripes made in the same manner as our U.S. flags. All Historical Flags come with the polyester canvas heading and brass grommets.
